How many children can I care for?

COMAR 13A.15.04.03, in the order you fill the house. Estimate only. Region 1 writes the number on the certificate.

They count toward eight.

Default is two children younger than 2 when you are the only adult. COMAR 13A.15.04.03 allows up to four only with office approval and an extra adult. A visiting child under 8 who is unaccompanied can also be counted — this form does not add visitors. The MSDE overview page only mentions the two-under-two limit.
